The We Build People Model

The We Build People model helps believers and church leaders to visualize the development of the four commitments each makes to Christ in regards to the discipleship process.

The commitments of the disciple are represented by the bases.

In our model's Base 1, an individual makes a commitment to membership, joining in a relationship with Christ through salvation and to a local church through friendship.

At Base 2, an individual becomes committed to maturity. They make a commitment to grow and become more a part of the local church.

Base 3 is commitment to ministry, which comes into play when an individual wants to become a part of the ministry effort of the church.

Base 4, the ultimate goal, is a commitment to mission. Here the disciples find their place in the Great Commission.

The model of the bases helps us see more clearly the decisions disciples make. Using the bases as touchstones, we can determine where people are in their spiritual development and what the church must do to help them progress farther.

The commitments of the church to the disciple are represented by the base paths.

Next, we will look more closely at the concepts and principles behind each base.
