Four Commitments Of Disciple Making Churches

A community that encourages and supports disciples is essential to the people building process. The church's responsibility is to facilitate the disciples' progress through the stages of spiritual development. This means the church community must provide opportunities for the people to make the right decisions and to participate in the disciple making process. The church must commit to the people and their spiritual development.

1.

Commitment to Include
Bringing unchurched nonbelievers into the church, ministering to needs, involving them in small groups, sharing the gospel, and leading them to a commitment to Christ and the church.

2.

Commitment to Instruct
Teaching the believer the principles of God's Word and making appropriate application in life so they can apply the habits, spiritual disciplines, and principles of a true disciple.

3.

Commitment to Involve
Training the believer to discover and develop his or her unique God-given gifts and callings through apprentice opportunities in your church's ministries. They witness the servanthood of others in the Body and receive leadership training.

4.

Commitment to Invest
Mobilizing the believer by investing him or her in ministry, leadership, and mission so they can reproduce the life and character of Christ in the lives of others. Exposes believers to global evangelism needs, cross-cultural experiences, leadership experiences, opportunities to disciple others, and ongoing leadership training.
