The Disciple's Commitments

There are four commitments a person must make to become a disciple of Jesus Christ, each representing a stage of a disciple's development.

1.

Commitment to Membership.
(Personal and accountable relationship with Christ and the local church.)

2.

Commitment to Maturity.
(Life-long spiritual growth.)

3.

Commitment to Ministry.
(Discovering and developing ministry gifts and calling.)

4.

Commitment to Mission.
(Investing in the global mission of God and the church thus fulfilling ones life-purpose.)

Because people are the object of ministry the need for a community is apparent. Just as an individual must develop four commitments to Christ to become a disciple, the Church must develop four commitments to the individual to become a disciple-making church.
